In December of 2012, Shelter Music Boston was honored to be chosen by Root Cause as the first-ever Classical Music Innovator in the Social Innovation Forum.
Founded in 2003 as a program of Root Cause, the Social Innovation Forum (SIF) provides a unique combination of capacity building and network building to create positive social change in greater Boston. Each year, SIF identifies five early-stage nonprofits (“Social Innovators”) through an intensive six-month due diligence process, then helps them gain visibility, expand their networks, and build capacity.
